Binchotan charcoal is regarded as the purest and most effective type of activated charcoal, and is revered for its purifying ability. These sticks are 100% Ubame Oak, and are exactly as they are when removed from the ancient kilns. The high temperatures and quick cooling, by dousing with ash, result in glass-like and beautiful branches.
When added to a carafe of water, the thousands of microscopic cavities left in the wood filter unwanted toxins and impurities, while softening and improving waters taste. The sticks can be disposed of in soil or compost once they start to diminish in efficacy (about 3 months).
Available in 1/4lb or 1/2lb package of assorted sized pieces.
